About the panelists:
Douglas M. Weill is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Hodes Weill & Associates, a leading, global capital advisory firm focused on the real estate investment and funds management industry. Doug has approximately 30 years of experience in the real estate industry as a consultant, advisor, and investment banker, specializing since 2000 on the real estate investment and fund management industry. He has advised on institutional private placements for over 100 real estate private equity funds, raising in excess of $35 billion of capital. Prior to co-founding Hodes Weill & Associates, Doug co-founded Credit Suisse’s Real Estate Private Fund Group in 2000. Prior to that, Doug was in the Real Estate Investment Banking Groups at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Paine Webber Incorporated. Doug received a BS in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. He serves as a member of the Advisory Board of Cornell University’s Baker Program in Real Estate.
Craig Blanchard is a Managing Director responsible for overseeing real estate investments and portfolio construction at Makena Capital Management, a global multi-asset class investment manager providing investment solutions to endowment investors around the world. Previously, Craig was a Managing Director at the Stanford Management Company, where he oversaw the Real Estate portfolio and served on the Investment Committee. Prior to that, he was a Principal at the Townsend Group and Head of Special Situations investing where he led a significant component of Townsend’s real estate business. Craig began his career with capital deployment and asset management roles at Broadreach Capital Partners, a Palo Alto-based real estate private equity firm, and at AMB Properties Corporation, a global logistics REIT. He earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA with highest honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
